FALL OFFERING
Root to Rise: Balancing Effort and Ease in the Midst of the Fall Semester
Date: Wednesday, 10/8/25
Time: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: SSB Glenn Maloney Room on the Ground Floor
In the Fall, the wind picks up with the change of the season. In the Fall Semester, the pace and intensity a busy academic semester does as well.. To meet the stresses that can keep us ungrounded, we will focus on connecting to where the earth supports us and building our foundation in order to rise and meet challenges on or off the mat.
The session will include gentle hatha yoga (appropriate for all levels and ability), breathwork, mantra, and meditation. It will be 60 minutes and IN PERSON with Employee Assistance Program counselor and hatha yoga teacher Jamie Justus LCSW-S (she/her).
The session will be at the Glenn Maloney Room on the ground floor of SSB on Wednesday 10/8/25 from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Please sign up through UT Learn to reserve your spot.
WINTER OFFERING
Silent Mindfulness Retreat: Honoring the Stillness of Winter
Date: Wednesday, 12/03/25
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Room: RRH 5.210 - Special Events Room
Winter teaches us the art of stillness and silence. We can use this time to go inward and self-reflect, deepening our connection to our inner world.
This 75-minute IN PERSON mindfulness workshop includes a gentle hatha yoga practice appropriate for all levels and ability, breathwork, journaling, and guided visualization. We practice intentional silence during this session to enjoy the stress reducing benefits that pausing and reflecting can bring to our body and being.
The retreat will be facilitated by Geeti Shirazi Mahajan, LCSW-S (she/her), one of the counselors at the Employee Assistance Program. Geeti is also certified as a Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT).
The workshop will be held in person in the Rowling Hall Special Events Room (RRH 5.210) on Wednesday, December 3rd from 11:30am-12:45pm. Please sign up through UT Learn to reserve your spot.
